In 2018 the Art Institute of Chicago released The Collection, a website making freely available 52,438 public domain works held in their permanent collection under the Creative Commons Zero license. The Collection includes high resolution scans of paintings, sculptures, stone works, textile pieces, and many more genres of art. Works from the Art Institute’s collection include a wide-range of world renowned pieces to lesser known gems from around the world. Search by artist or keyword or simply browse the vast collection of works that are sure to inspire you to create.
