New North Dakota church reference book donated

The new book Patterns of the Prairie: A History of Worship in North Dakota, has been donated by the author, Thomas Newgard.  The book contains maps and listings of churches by county, parish name, years of operation, ethnicity, and denomination.  The book can be found in the Institute for Regional Studies Archives book collection.


Church directory from Leeds, North Dakota added to collection

A church directory from Leeds, North Dakota, has been added to the Institute for Regional Studies Archives book collection.  This pictorial directory was published about 1965, and contains the photographs, portraits and addresses of church members from four Lutheran congregations, including Leeds Evangelical Lutheran Church, York Lutheran Church, St. Petri Lutheran Church, and Our Savior’s Lutheran Church.


History of St. John's School in Wahpeton added to collection

The book St. John’s School:100 Years and Looking Ahead, is a pictorial centennial history of the St. John’s Catholic School, in Wahpeton, North Dakota, published in 1982.  The book features a timeline history of the school, photographs of graduating classes, athletic teams, and music groups.  There are also photos of the Sisters of St. Benedict, from St. Joseph, Minnesota; and Sisters of St. Francis, of Hankinson, North Dakota.
