kids reading a book together
December 2021
Established Fall 2020, NDSU Libraries is excited to host a collection of children’s books in our Young Readers Collection—a subset of our Shott Collection, provided by the Mary-Lou and George Shott Endowment. Serving our elementary education majors and the general campus community, it features books geared towards children who are eight years old and younger.

The collection includes popular bedtime stories, easy reads to build a child's confidence, books that provide diverse stories and perspectives, and others curated from lists by community activists and award programs such as: American Indian Youth Literature Awards, Coretta Scott King Awards, and Stonewall Awards.

The collection can be found near the Reference Desk and computer cluster area on the main floor of the Main Library. Grab a seat and find a new experience to share with the young reader(s) in your life!

NDSU students, faculty, and staff have borrowing capabilities with their NDSU Card.
