Book on Czechs in America donated to collection

The book History of Czechs in America, by Jan Habenicht, has been donated to the Institute for Regional Studies Archives book collection.  A chapter in this book covers Czech settlements in North Dakota, and will be a real asset to patrons researching North Dakota’s ethnic histories.  The following description comes from Amazon:

“The author describes the historical development of Czech settlements on a state-by-state basis, includes numerous photographs and illustrations. Maps of states settled by Czech immigrants, showing counties, are included in the appendix. There is a section on Czech-American Literature with bios and contributions of authors, journalists, and publishers. Also included are a list of Czech-American organizations, surname index and geographical index.”
