Recently three great nieces of Professor Henry Luke Bolley visited the NDSU Archives and donated several Bolley related publications. Among the donation was this book they wrote on the family history of Christian and Bessie (Rice) Gunness. Bessie was the niece of Prof. Bolley, and moved to Fargo after her parents died. She lived with the Bolley’s and attended the North Dakota Agricultural College, studying biology and home economics. The book, A Gunness History covers the story of Bessie and her husband through remembrances, letters, and a large number of photos.
