The Water and Agriculture Information Center (WAIC) collects, organizes, and provides online access to the scientific findings, educational methodologies, and public policy issues related to water and agriculture. WAIC resources cover a variety of topics related to water and agriculture including:

  • Agricultural Environment Management
  • Climate Change
  • Conservation Practices
  • Ecosystem Services
  • Irrigation
  • Social and Legal Issues
  • Water Availability and Quality

The types of information available includes: reports and news from the U.S. Government agencies such as the NRCS, links to centers and organizations that research water and agriculture, educational materials for students and teachers, tools and guides, and webinars. They also provide a list of freely available online databases that relate to water and agriculture and “dynamic bibliographies” by topic. Dynamic bibliographies provide a list of articles and books compiled from searches run in four different databases (AGRICOLA, Navigator, PubAg, and Scopus). A new list is generated each time you use the link, so it is always up-to-date.

For more regional information, go to: Drought (NDSU Extension), U.S. Drought Monitor Conditions for North Dakota, ND State Water Commission, ND Dept. of Environmental Quality, ND Dept. of Agriculture, and NRCS: ND Water Resources.
