The 1909 North Dakota Agricultural College class ring of Emily (May) Plath has been donated to the NDSU Archives, by her son Verne Plath.  Emily May was the first woman to graduate from N.D.A.C. with a masters in Chemistry, writing her thesis on baking powder under E.F. Ladd, who wage a war against impure ingredients in food manufacturing.  She worked as a lab technologist in the diary department at NDAC until she retired in 1954.
