Resources for National Write a Business Plan Month

Are you interested in writing a business plan? NDSU Libraries can help! This month's Collection Highlight focuses on some relevant resources the Libraries has available.

The entrepreneurship research guide includes example business plans, templates, links to free resources for finding information like demographics and traffic counts, as well as NDSU Libraries resources such as average financials for similar businesses.

If you aren’t affiliated with NDSU, you can still access all this great information onsite. Set up a time to meet with our Research and Access Librarian and get a guest pass for the Business Learning Center, located in the lower level of Barry H. Hall in downtown Fargo.

NDSU Libraries Resource Highlights:

Mergent Intellect – This includes industry reports for over 1,000 industries, industry financial benchmarking data (“Key Business Ratios”), consumer data and demographics, consumer contact information (download limit 200), and information on local companies.

NexisUni – You can use this to create a list of potential competitors by industry and location; it even includes annual sales revenue for many companies.

Handbook of Marketing Scales – Looking for feedback on your product idea or advertising from potential customers? This ebook includes over 150 surveys to gauge reactions to marketing, consumer behavior, and more.
